JAEGER-LeCOULTRE  Rendez-Vous Night & Day / Rendez-Vous Date

This year, the Manufacture of Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced two new models testifying to the dynamism and creative freedom exercised in the Jaeger-LeCoultre workshops. A new case size offers an even slimmer interpretation of the now emblematic silhouette, while a new mother-of-pearl dial adorned with diamond chatons accentuates the line’s inherent femininity.

Time has a special tryst with creativity in the Jaeger-LeCoultre workshops. For over 180 years, the Manufacture has been striving to give it a face and heart, stemming from a subtle blend of technical and aesthetic expertise. A vibrant tribute to women, the Rendez-Vous collection also crystallises the fruitful encounter between watch and jewellery making. Two new creations bring their own unique personality to a line that has been met with enthusiasm since its launch two years ago.

Born from Jaeger-LeCoultre’s wish to offer contemporary women a timepiece in their own image, the Rendez-Vous collection boldly proclaims its origins. It encapsulates the expertise that the Maison has developed since its founding in 1833. It enshrines a radiant femininity that time cannot alter. At once contemporary and classic, it naturally establishes itself as a loyal daily companion.

This year, the Manufacture  introduced two new models testifying to the dynamism and creative freedom exercised in the Jaeger-LeCoultre workshops. A new case size offers an even slimmer interpretation of the now emblematic silhouette, while a new mother-of-pearl dial adorned with diamond chatons accentuates the line’s inherent femininity.

Decidedly classic yet resolutely contemporary

The Rendez-Vous Date conceals an exceptional watchmaking heart beneath its slender frame. Clad in glowing pink gold, the 27.5 mm-diameter case – a new size for the collection – protects Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 966, one of the smallest mechanical movements on the watchmaking scene. Admirably epitomising the in-house expertise in the field of mechanical miniaturisation, it echoes the 101 and Duo plan movements that have made their mark on watchmaking history.

Clearly visible through the sapphire crystal case-back, the mechanism steadily drives the date indication appearing at 6 o’clock. The dial is swept over by a trio of blued hands and graced with a subtly ribbed guilloché pattern evoking the delicate texture of wild silk. Thus adorned, it welcomes the 1930s-inspired numerals that become a signature of the collection, lit up by the sparkle of the diamond-set bezel. Daintily fitted with a nude leather strap or a bracelet composed of pink gold links, the Rendez-Vous Date assert its own timeless style of which the intrinsic elegance is nurtured by the noblest traditions of precision and technical Fine Watchmaking.

Rendez-Vous Night & Day Beneath its understated initial appearance lies a sophistication pervading each and every detail. The new Rendez-Vous Night & Day allows time to exquisitely bloom on a shimmering mother of pearl sublimated by diamond chatons topping the hour numerals. The day/night display provided at 6 o’clock reveals a delightfully poetic interpretation of the moon, while the powdered gilt dots encircling the centre accentuate the graceful femininity of this creation.

The 29 mm-diameter case opts for a new concave bezel design that gives this watch a subtly urban allure and appears to capture the light, the better to reflect it. The sapphire crystal case-back provides a panoramic view of the automatic Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 967A beating within and of which the bevelled, hand-drawn and circular-grained mainplate and bridges pay tribute to the most refined expression of Fine Watchmaking. The model is available in pink gold and steel versions.
