Vacheron Constantin Malte tourbillon Light and shadow effects

In 24th SIHH 2014, Vacheron Constantin presents Malte Tourbillon Openwork. This model has intricate features including the skeletonization and engraving on full display.  The tourbillon brand is a complicated new creation with the Geneva signature reaching the peak of the Haute Horlogerie world.

Vacheron Constantin is filled with many pioneering mechanical and decorative techniques in the watch making industry from 1755.  Jean-Marc Vacheron’s first watch had a bridge piece between a balance and regulator system with stitching and engraving. A light and transparent foundation was made during this time, which had a peak for production between the 1920’s and 1990’s. Vacheron Constantin’s decided to discover new horizons with harmonizing one of the most complicated styles of openworked with the skeleton Tourbillon.

To improve the production of the tourbillon calibre in the Tonneau-shaped an exceptional mechanical ability in watch making is required.  To give the sense of volume a mixture of light and the illusion of shadow makes the aspect very important.  Without a doubt Vacheron Constantin puts an honorable signature of success with the new Calibre 2790 SQ, which is at the heart of the Malte Tourbillon Openwork.

Vacheron Constantin dreamed of an architecture motif that had never been done before and created sections with moving parts around a triangular form. The artisans manufacturing these watches use meticulous strokes, creating tiny triangles composed of current straight lines to create the spectacular three-dimensional effect of the finished timepiece. These also implicate the hand drawing and chamfering of the 246 parts of the calibre.

Malte Tourbillon Openworked has all the credentials for the Geneva seal.  This was established in 1886 by the “Grand Conseil de la republique” and “The Canton of Geneva.” It’s a Guarantee of origin, craftsmanship, durability and expertise. In 2011, the concept of the guarantee had completely changed. Now this seal is only given to the brand’s best watches that meet all the criteria functionally, as well as the calibre. Vacheron Constantin has supported this genuine standard of excellence and emblem of Geneva watchmaking by for many years, having fully satisfied customers expectations.
